Indiana University Bloomington continually looks ahead, reshaping our initiatives to ensure our relevance and influence in our local community, in our state, and throughout the world. Our campus has a long history of supporting innovative programs and a welcoming culture. We set our standards high for academic offerings, the diversity of our faculty and student body, and the strength of our global relationships.
Campus Initiatives
Great public universities educate students for what lies beyond the horizon. As the world around us changes, what we teach and the manner in which we teach it must also evolve.

Goals for our third century
During the 2013–14 academic year, IU faculty, staff, and students participated in an in-depth process of envisioning IU’s path in its third century—which culminated in the IU Bicentennial Strategic Plan. In addition to the IU-wide plan, each IU campus set specific goals. The IU Bloomington Bicentennial Strategic Plan includes these initiatives:
Diversity: A welcoming culture supports faculty and student success, broadens our scholarly horizons, and increases our meaningful contributions to the world.
Learn about diversity at IUGlobal partnerships and programs: Growing our global connectedness enhances our academic endeavors and the value of our graduates’ experiences.
